Ancienne famille sarde, qui est ornée du titre comtal, avec le prédicat de saint André, de vertu claire et ancestrale, répandue au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie. L'origine de ce patronyme, selon d'illustres généalogistes, doit être recherchée dans le toponyme de l'ancien village de Sisini, probablement le lieu de naissance d'un géniteur aujourd'hui inconnu.
