Alcuni genealogisti ritengono che questa famiglia sia originaria da Solero in Piemonte. Sul finire del sec. XV vivevano in Mantova Bassano e Battista, figli di Giacomo, di Tura e di Biagina di Zaccaria del Ponti, ove esercitavano l'arte onorevole di farmacista. Questi due fratelli trasferirono la loro dimora in Rimini, ove continuarono a esercitare la loro arte e nel 1490, il 25 febbraio, venne loro concessa la cittadinanza riminese. Battista sposò Pompilia, di ser Antonio Tonarelli di S. Arcangelo, dalla quale ebbe Giacomo, che continuò l'arte farmaceutica, e fu padre di Giovan Francesco, marito di Camilla Sensolini. Morì nel 1579 e lasciò un unico figlio, Giacomo. Questi sposò in prime nozze Orinzia, del capitano Giovanni Moretti di Rimini, ed in seconde, Laura, di Silvestro Ansaloni. Nel 1630 egli venne aggregato alla nobiltà di Rimini. Morì nel 1636, lasciando Carlo, che si dette alla vita delle armi e fu colonnello di
