Antica famiglia, ascritta alla nobiltà di Jesi fin dal secolo XVI. Si ha memoria di un Cola nato nel 1535 e morto il 24 giugno 1607, che ricoprì cariche importanti nella magistratura di Jesi. Egli ebbe due mogli; dalla prima Lucia Rocchi, ebbe: a) Tommaso eccellente dottore in utroque, fu di magistratura a Jesi e comandante di tutte le forze militari dell'Umbria sotto Leone Strozzi; b) Giovanni Pietro ambasciatore a Fano e Ancona, governatore di Bagnorea; c) Ruggero famoso condottiero di truppe a piedi ed a cavallo. La seconda moglie del Cola fu Marsibilia Ghisilieri di antica e nobile famiglia Jesina; da questa nacquero: a) Simone che canonico della S. Casa di Loreto; b) Angelo che fu canonico della cattedrale di Jesi; c) Alessandro che morì giovinetto. La Consulta Araldica dichiarò spettare a questa famiglia il titolo di nobile di Jesi (mf).
