C'est en vertu d'une substituction que cette famille porte les noms et armes — à peu de choses près — de la maison de Solminiac. Parmi les votants dans l'ordre de la Noblesse, en 1789, on voit figurer à Périgueux, ainsi enscrit: " Haut et puissant seigneur messire Pierre d'Estut, chevalier, marquis de Solminiac, seigneur, baron du présent lieu, de Saint-Pardou, d'Eymet, de Boisverdun et autres lieux." Il vota en sa qualité de haut justicier de la ville, terre et seigneurie d'Eymet en Périgord. Cette famille a été également, en 1789, représentée aux assemblées de la noblesse de Bordeaux et de Libourne. Dans la liste des familles admises aux honneurs de la cour figurent: le 8 mai 1786, le comte d'Estut de Solminiac; et en 1788, la comtesse d'Estut de Solminiac.
