Antica famiglia di origine veneta, trasferita a Corfù per ragione di commercio. Avendo contribuito alla difesa di Corfù contro i Turchi, fu aggregata a quel nobile Consiglio nel 1753 e l'anno precedente con Decreto del Senato, 6 maggio 1752, aveva avuto la concessione del titolo di conte, titoli confermati il 21 luglio 1840 dal Governo delle Isole Jonie e il 25 gennaio 1881 dell'Imperiale R. Governo Austriaco. Furono riconosciuti in Italia con Decreto Ministeriale 8 ottobre 1897. Molte famiglie che dimoravano in Venezia appartenevano alla nobiltà. Nel Libro d'Oro della nobiltà veneta e ne il Patriziato Veneto dopo la guerra di Candia e la Serrata del Maggior Consiglio del 1646, eventi questi che lasciarono fama immortale pel grande senno politico e virtù cittadine, troviamo illustre questa famiglia.
