Apellido gallego. Una rama pasó a Canarias. Doña Isabel S. Calderón, contrajo matrimonio el 8 de mayo de 1645, en la Parroquia de Santa Ana, de Garachico, con Don García del Hoyo Calderón Alzola y Solórzano, nacido en dicha población el 13 de mayo de 1622. Doña Isabel S. era hija de Don Diego S. de la Mota, Capitán de Infantería de número de Castilla, y de su esposa Doña María Jorba Calderón, y nieta por parte paterna del Capitán Alonso de la Mota y Doña Isabel Sotelo, vecinos de Villanueva de las Infantas. De aquel matrimonio hubo cinco hijos. Don Juan del Hoyo-Solórzano y S. Gallegos y Jorba, tercero de los hermanos, fue el primer Conde de Siete Fuentes. Nació en Garachico, siendo bautizado el 15 de mayo de 1651 en la parroquia de Santa Ana. Don Miguel S., probó su nobleza en la Orden de Santiago, y en la de Calatrava Don Diego S. Jorba y Calderón, I Marqués de la Fuente de Las Palmas. Otros caballeros de este apellido probaron su nobleza en la Orden de San Juan de Jerusalén y en la Real Chancillería de Valladolid.
