Fu costume delle più antiche famiglie, le quali dopo la caduta del Romano Imperio, in quella inondatione de' Barbari, havendo i loro cognomi, sicome gli studi, e altre cose belle smarrito e restati solo con semplici nomi, trarre di nuovo i loro cognomi, e il loro casato da' nomi proprii paterni,

In uno scudo inquartato: nel primo in campo d'azzurro un albero di pomi arabici al naturale fruttifero di rosso sormontato da una cometa d'oro in capo dello scudo ed un porcello pure al naturale passante e attraversante sopra il tronco dell'albero piantato in un terreno erboso. Nel secondo di rosso a tre teste d'uomo d'argento recise di rosso poste in fascis ordinate in fascia abbassate sopra queste un braccio destro di carnagione vestito d'azzurro ed impugnante una scimitarra d'argento guarnita d'oro movente dal fianco sinistro dello scudo. Nel terzo d'argento a tre piante di comino verdi piantate in un terreno dello stesso. Nel quarto d'oro a tre piedi di carnagione recisi di rosso, i due superiori destri e l'inferiore sinistro.
