Antichissima famiglia di Fano, che non ha niente di comune con la sua omonima di Brescia, pure nobilissima; benché questa pure per circa 65 anni dimorasse in Fano, e non solo fosse ascritta alla sua nobiltà, ma Bartolomeo de' Palazzi "Domicello di Brescia" e luogotenente di Pandolfo Malatesta, insieme a suo suocero messer Ugolini de' Pili, nobile fanese, avesse dal suddetto Pandolfo confermato con bolla di Eugenio IV nel 1437 in feudo per loro due e discendente, il castello di San Costanzo in quel Fano, e ciò per le ingenti somme di denaro dai due prestatigli. Tale castello nel 1440 da Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta fu tramutato con la Terra di Barchi e la Villa di San Sebastiano, che però dal Malatesta stesso poco dopo furono ritolte e confiscate per sempre. La famiglia Palazzi di Brescia venne a Fano solo nel 1421 e ne ripartì nel 1486 per tornare a Brescia;
