Antica ed assai nobile famiglia di Marsala, nota sin dal secolo decimo settimo, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. La famiglia, nel dispiegarsi dei lustri, sempre è riuscita a produrre una serie di uomini che hanno reso illustre il suo nome, nei pubblici impieghi, nelle professioni liberali ed ecclesiastiche e nel servizio militare. Un Antonio era barone di San Giuliano ed in tale titolo gli succedette il figlio Giovan Vito, capitano di giustizia in Marsala nel 1804/5, che, a sua volta, ne ottenne investitura il 10 aprile 1768. Un altro Antonio, barone di San Giuliano, tenne la carica di senatore in Marsala nel 1812/3. Alessandro, proveniente dalla Scuola Militare della Nunziatella, tenente colonnello comandante del “1° Battaglione Gendarmeria Reale a piedi” dell’Esercito del Regno delle Due Sicilie, di stanza in Napoli, fu presente nei ruoli attivi del 1860; Francesco, alfiere del “2° Reggimento
