Col diploma in data 27 febbr. 1711 il re Carlo III di Castiglia e di Aragona concedeva il titolo di conte di San Martino a don Giovanni Valentino ed ai suoi discendenti e successori di sangue, stabilendo che si dovesse succedere per via di maggiorasco legale o regolare. E quando l'isola di Sardegna passò sotto la Dinastia Sabauda, il predetto don Giovanni, conte di San Martino, fece conoscere al re che, per diploma del 10 febbr. 1711, fu graziato da S.M. Imperiale Carlo VI, assieme ai suoi figli e discendenti legittimi e naturali, del Salto volgarmente detto di Minutadas, con ogni giurisdizione civile e criminale, mero e misto imperio, come pure del titolo di conte, portato da altro diploma del medesimo imperatore del 27 dello stesso mese di febbraio, ed inoltre delle rendite civili annuali delle ville volgarmente dette di Mandrolisai, come per terzo diploma dell'11 febbr. 1716, in titolo
