Antica e nobile famiglia abruzzese, à sostenuto con onore le eminenti cariche di regi tesorieri, familiari e commensali, mastri di campo, ricevitori generali, ecc. Due di essi, Quidazio ed Albemario furono nel 1327 decorati del titolo di militi; un Francesco ebbe dal re Filippo I il 5 Ag. 1581 il titolo di marchese, e in tempi a noi vicini un Giuseppe il 30 Mag. 1831 era aggregato alla nobiltà di Bologna, ed il 27 Nov. 1832 con decreto pontificio elevato alla dignità di conte del Sacro Palazzo. Questo stesso Giuseppe rivendicò inoltre il titolo marchionale nella propria famiglia che gli fu accordato con R. decreto 25 Mag. 1841. Il terzogenito del marchese Giovan-Angelo, per nome Filippo, à ereditato dall'avolo materno il titolo di marchese di Sogliano, riconosciuto con R. decreto 21 Sett. 1855.
