Un Nicolò fu viceré del Regno di Sicilia nel 1424; scrisse attorno i Vespri Siciliani e conseguì gli stati di Paternò, Spaccaforno, Castelluzzo, Granieri, Cassibile, Sammarco, Celso, Monteclimito e Cipulla. Nel 1448 Pietro fu pure viceré del Regno, signore, di Alcamo e di Calatafimi, maestro razionale del Regno e pretore di Palermo nel 1461. Vassallo, suo fratello, fu ambasciatore di Sicilia are Giacomo d'Aragona; Andrea, duca di Valverde e Bologna, nel 1728 fu superiore della Compagnia della Carità di Palermo, nel 1737, e governatore del Monte di Pietà nel 1749, Giuseppe, suo figlio, ebbe le stesse cariche e fu signore dei feudi di Ducco, Aquila e Gemaria, in Val di Mazzara.
