Nobile famiglia di Arcevia (Ancona), oriunda di Montalfoglio (Pesaro), di cui si hanno notizie sin dal secolo XVI. Riconosce come suo capostipite un Pier Luigi, che morì nel 1727. Da lui ne vennero: Terenzio, nato nel 1683 e Giambattista, dottore in giurisprudenza e che si stabilì in Arcevia, avendo sposato, il 12 aprile 1741, la nobile Anastasia, figlia di Scipione Orsini, ultima di sua famiglia, che obbligò i suoi discendenti ad aggiungere cognome ed arma di casa Orsini, nobile famiglia arceviese. Pietro, di Giambattista, si addottorò in "utroque", nel 1763 all'università di Perugia, e nel giugno 1799 fu eletto governatore di Arcevia e quindi fu ammesso alla nobiltà di primo grado con tutta la discendenza, la quale poi nei suoi membri sedette in Consiglio, avendo il priorato e il gonfalonierato. Da Piero ne vennero Agostino che avendo sposato il 26 luglio 1810
