Alcuni pretendono che questa famiglia sia un ramo dell'omonima di Firenze, ma è opinione del tutto infondata perché priva di documentazione. Il primo personaggio di cui si ha certa notizia è un Giacomo, che verso la metà del secolo XVI viveva in S. Angelo in Vado; da questi nel 1570 nacque Tommaso, che insieme al padre trasferì la sua dimora da S. Angelo in Vado a Rimini. Da Tommaso nacque Domenico (1645-1734), padre di Ferdinando Angelo, che sposò in prime nozze Rosa Savini ed in seconde Elisabetta Ruspetti. Morì nel 1774 lasciando sette figli, fra i quali Carlo, che nel1818 venne aggregato alla nobiltà di Rimini. Questi, da Caterina Bornnaccini, ebbe Giambattista (n. 1792 dec. 1864) che accrebbe lustro alla famiglia ottenendo nel 1819, un anno dopo l'aggregazione del padre alla nobiltà riminese, il titolo di patrizio della Repubblica di S. Marino. Fu dottore in legge e commendatore dell'Ordine
