Family of ancient and noble tradition originating in the Lazio region, called Sprega or Spreca, which has spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. The first of her, of which we have known, is a Giovanni, from Polo, of a certain Ser Pepone "alias Spreca", prior of the Municipality of Viterbo, in 1428 and whose children were the progenitors of the branches of Viterbo and Vallerano. The first became extinct at the end of the seventeenth century in a Ippolita, by Sebastiano, wife of Francesco Poggi. The second branch, descended from an Antonio, prior in 1474, was reinstated in the nobility of Viterbo in the year 1777 with Gerolamo, Lorenzo, Antonio and Paolo, living in Vallerano.
