De una bibliografía antigua, impresa en Florencia por la tipografía Murate en el año 1866, titulada "Libro de los nobles venecianos, ahora por primera vez resaltado", se observa que la familia Stacio es originaria de Veneto. Sus miembros fueron ennoblecidos en 1653. Muchas familias que vivían en Venecia pertenecían a la nobleza. Encontramos a la familia Stacio ilustre en el Libro de Oro de la nobleza veneciana y en el Patriciate veneciano después de la Guerra de Candia y la Serrata del Maggior Consiglio de 1646, eventos que dejaron una fama inmortal por el gran sentido político y las virtudes de la ciudad. Sobre la base de crónicas antiguas existentes en la Biblioteca Marciana, y en los Archivos del Estado previamente inéditos; y contrario a lo que Freschot publicó en su nobleza veneciana, las obras mencionadas son imparciales con respecto al origen de ciertas familias, contratadas por el patriciado veneciano.
