Un Bartolomeo Statio, venne da Milano esercitando il commercio della lana, e il 3 maggio 1653, mediante la consueta offerta di 100 mille ducati, fu aggregato alla patrizia nobiltà. La sua supplica ottenne nel Senato: voti favorevoli 123, contrari 6, non sinceri 7; mentre nel Maggior Consiglio, ottenne: voti favorevoli 565, contrari 106, non sinceri 14. V'è però chi ritiene che l'antica famiglia sia proveniente da Lugano. Non si ebbero più notizie di questa famiglia dal secolo scorso con un Andrea Statio.
