Cette maison originaire du lieu de Congon, paroisse de Sampzon, s'éleva par l'alliance de Guillaume, le 3 décembre 1673, avec Hélène de Borne, fille de Pierre, seigneur de Baumefort et d'Alexandrine de Rochier. Les descendants de Guillaume arrivèrent rapidement à une situation assez considérable. Au IXème degré de la généalogie dressée par M. R. de Gigord dans son volume: la Noblesse de la Sénéchaussée de Villeneuve de Berg en 1789, on trouve Eustache Louis Achille François qui fit partie de l'assemblèe de la noblesse en 1814, nommé lieutenant-colonel et chevalier de Saint-Louis. Il épousa, le 25 avril 1795, Aglaé Louise Charlotte d'Appelvoisin, fille de Gabriel René, marquis de la Roche du Maine, maréchal de camp et de Louise Chaspoux de Verneuil, fille du grand échanson. Il eut trois enfants dont un fils mort sans postérité et deux filles, la comtesse de Raymond de Modène et la comtesse de Crozet. Voir: Vicomte de Montravel: Mss. R. de Gigord.
