Antigua y muy noble familia alemana, de clara y ancestral virtud, originaria de Württemberg, extendida a lo largo de los siglos por diversas partes del mundo. Según nos ha llegado, esta familia pertenecía a la nobleza "Briefadel" (lit. "letra de nobleza"), o títulos creados por el monarca con letras patentes, moda que, influida por la práctica francesa, se introdujo en Alemania bajo el emperador Carlos IV (r. 1346-1378). Esta familia también era propietaria del feudo de Weissenbach y esto explica la presencia de una forma de apellido adicional con el propio predicado de Weissenbach. En todo caso, la familia Strack ha sido confirmada en su nobleza con la Lettere Patenti del 1 de septiembre de 1874. Además, en el devenir de las décadas, siempre ha sabido producir una serie de hombres que han hecho célebre su nombre, en el empleo público, en las profesiones liberales y en el servicio militar.
