Antiga e muito nobre família alemã, de clara e ancestral virtude, originária de Württemberg, estendeu-se ao longo dos séculos por várias partes do mundo. Segundo o que nos é transmitido, esta família pertencia à nobreza "Briefadel" (lit. "carta de nobreza"), ou títulos criados pelo monarca com letras de patente, moda que, influenciada pela prática francesa, foi introduzida em Alemanha sob o imperador Carlos IV (r. 1346–1378). Esta família também possuía o feudo de Weissenbach e isso explica a presença de uma forma de sobrenome adicional com o próprio predicado de Weissenbach. De qualquer forma, a família Strack foi confirmada em sua nobreza com Lettere Patenti 1 de setembro de 1874. Além disso, no desenrolar das décadas, sempre conseguiu produzir uma série de homens que tornaram seu nome famoso, no emprego público, nas profissões liberais e no serviço militar.
