Ancienne et très noble famille du nord de l'Italie, de vertu claire et ancestrale, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie, avec une implantation remarquable dans le Latium, et de France. Les premières nouvelles concernant cette famille sont à Pavie. En effet, lorsqu'en juillet 1024 la ville se révolta contre le comte de Lomello, trente-six familles parmi les plus en vue du lieu, dont la Strada, constituèrent la commune noble. À Novi, les Strada sont présentes et déjà influentes depuis le début des années 1100, faisant partie du Consortium qui quelques décennies plus tard a également établi la noble municipalité ici. Le Cavagna Sangiuliani dans son "Agro Vogherese" compte les Strada parmi les plus anciennes familles de Voghera vivant au XII-XIV siècle. À Crémone, la famille a brillé depuis le XVe siècle, donnant au pays cinq décurions, dont le premier fut Maflino, élu en 1474, et le dernier
