Famiglia originaria di Cantù nella Brianza dove nella prima metà del secolo XIV viveva un Petrazio Suisola da cui proviene la nobile famiglia milanese di questo nome. I pronipoti del Petrazio nella prima metà del XV secolo tovansi gà stabiliti in MiIano, alla cui cittadina furono ascritti i fratelli Giovanni, Pietro, Bertolino e Stefano, con privilegio di Gaelazzo Maria Sforza dato in Pavia l'11 Febbraio 1470. Questa famiglia conta un buon numero di dottori in leggi, alcuni caustidici collegiati e notai roganti, consoli di gustizia e sindaci di Milano, ed altri furono dei XII di provvisione, deputati alla fabbrica del Duomo giudici delle vettovagle ecc. Nè mancarono individui che segnalaronsi nel mestiere delle armi e nel sapere; ed ha lasciato chiara fama di se il conte Cristoforo, che ha dato luminosa prova del suo genio poetico in un volume deì suoi Scritti vari stampato in Milano nel 1878 dal Brigola.
