With resolution of 1 August 1833, the civic magistrate of Arezzo decided to propose to the sovereign the inscription to the aretine nobility of doctor Leopoldo, of the late doctor Pietro Tacchini, of Cortona, a very distinguished physical physician, domiciled in Florence, who had been one of the first doctors of Lodovico I of Borbone, king of Etruria, then chief health officer, of the royal bodyguards and, after the return of the Grand Duke Ferdinand III of Lorraine, had been recalled to court, and therefore from 1833 declared "consultor doctor", and decorated of the Order of Civil Merit of Austria for having provided free reported services in Austrian hospitals. This proposal was accepted by the Grand Duke with a rewritten sovereign 24 January 1834. Guardia del Corpo, ottenne l'ammissione alla nobiltà aretina nel 1834. Si trova anche il doppio cognome «Tacchini Paganini».
