Nel luglio 1204 i T., scuotendosi dalla tirannia del Sacro Palazzo, costituirono con le famiglie preminenti della città il comune Signorile di Pavia; il Cavagna Sangiuliani li annovera tra le famiglie più antiche viventi in Voghera nei sec. XII-XIV ed a Tortona la loro presenza è segnalata da un... Tacconus non meglio identificato, che è teste in atto dell'11 dicembre 1179 con cui Bonifacio Cacciaguerra investe il vescovo Uberto di una cappella fatta edificare dal proprio padre in onore del beato Guglielmo nel castello di Casei; poichè l'atto è rogato in Tortona si ritiene che il teste fosse ivi residente ove la famiglia acquisita una posizione preminente, partecipa alla vita pubblica con un suo membro: Enrico T. che alla Credenza, di cui era membro, il 29 gennaio 1191 ed il 7 luglio 1197 delibera su mutui che il Comune contrae per estinguere debiti; il 26 agosto 1198 e 27 marzo
