Ancient family originally from Emilia Romagna, with residence in Ferrara, which has spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. The origin of this cognomination, to say the least of illustrious genealogists, should be sought in an archaic homonymous form of the name "Taddeo", probably belonging to a, today unknown, progenitor. In any case, this house, probably, decorated with the knighthood, following the participation, characterized by courage and virtue, in 1509, of a Carlo Taddia, under the banner of Este, in the famous arms event of the Battle of Polesella, in which the terrestrial army, under the direct supervision of Alfonso I, defeated the Venetian Republic. Also subsequently, moreover, the family, always, distinguished itself for the illustrious characters, to whom it gave birth, among which, we remember: Cav.
