Il Municipio di Savigliano spedì il 10 Mar. 1590 lettera di cittadinanza al capitano Giusto Taffini, che fu poi colonnello d'infanteria e rese molti servigi alla casa di Savoja. Camillo, suo figlio, fu prima capitano di cavalleria, poi governatore di Torino, e finalmente ispettore generale della milizia e genti da guerra, consigliere di stato e gentiluomo di camera del Duca Carlo-Emanuele. Da lui nacque Giusto-Aurelio che fu colonnello di cavalleria. I Taffini ebbero il feudo di Acceglio con titolo comitale.
