Antica ed illustre famiglia famiglia lombarda, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione va ricercata in un soprannome legato al vocabolo medioevale sassone "tainus" (= compagno d'armi). Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, tal casato è una diramazione della nobile famiglia piacentina Taini, attesta sin dal 1676, con un Orazio, podestà di Zibello. Pertanto la nobiltà della famiglia Taino discende, come quella dei Taini, da quel dott. Cesare, medico distinto, nato il 22 marzo 1677 e deceduto il primo febbraio 1765, protomedico in patria, a cui, per probità, scienza e censo, gli venne conferita la nobiltà per sé e i per suoi discendenti d'ambo i sessi, con diploma di Francesco Farnese del 20 giugno 1719.
