Un Arcadio Talamone passò in Sicilia al seguito di Federico II, nel 1296, e quivi stabilì la sua famiglia. Un Rinaldo e Beatrice Talamone fondarono nel 1378 l'abbazia di Farinato, oggi del Soccorso. Felice Talamone, come figlio primogenito di Rainaldo Talamone, fu investito il 2 Gennaio 1783 del feudo di Salinella. Maria-Viola Speciale e Talamone fu riconosciuta nel titolo di Barone di Salinella il 4 Settembre 1883, con Decr. Ministeriale, in forza di Regio Beneplacito 21 Giugno 1883, da usarlo anche il marito Nobile Gaetano La Motta dei Baroni di S. Silvestro. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli o bandiere dei cavalieri, esposti alle finestre delle locande in cui questi alloggiavano, in occasione dei tornei, e durante
