Famiglia che diversi scrittori affermano d'origine greca, detta anticamente d'Aymon. Le prime notizie risalgono ad un Lanfranco, capitano di milizie nel 1135 al seguito di Ruggiero I il Normanno. Stabilitasi intorno a quel tempo nel regno di Napoli si divise in due rami: uno passò in Sulmona, ove si estinse in un Angelantonio nel 1797, e l'altro tuttora fiorente al seggio di Porta. Appartennero invece ai membri di Sorrento: Paolo, uomo di parte al tempo delle fazioni angioine; Giov. Berardino e Giov.
