Un Anton Francesco, originario della Toscana, eletto dal Pontefice Urbano VIII Tesoriere segreto di S. Chiesa, ed accolto in seguito fra i Romani patrizi, col mezzo di Giacomo Querini Ambasciatore Veneto a Roma offerse alla Repubblica cento mille ducati, e la parte ballottata in Senato il 3 agosto 1664 con voti favorevoli 160, contrari 11, non sinceri 6, venne proposta ed accettata nel Maggior Consiglio il 10 agosto detto anno con voti favorevoli 584, contrari 157, non sinceri 12. Fu quello che acquistò il palazzo sito a S. Luca. Gian Giacomo, suo figliuolo portossi nel 1668 alla difesa di Candia, ove dimostrando grande valore nel respingere gli attacchi dei Turchi, rimase gravemente ferito. Un altro Anton Francesco, nipote di Gian Giacomo fondò nel suo palazzo di S. Luca l'anno 1778 un'Accademia letteraria. Nello stesso palazzo fiorì un'accademia di pittura e scultura, e quivi a merito dell'abate Filippo Farsetti l'immortale Canova
