E' una famiglia di medici, di cui alcuni furono insigni e lasciarono memoria di sè. Un Lazzaro, (n. nel 1713, dec. nel 1802), fu archiatra della Corte di Modena presso il Duca Ercole III; ammogliato con Rosa Casali, ebbe dodici figli: di essi Antonio fu valente ingegnere idraulico ed architetto nel Regno Italico, Ispettore generale di acque e strade degli Stati Estensi e, chiamato dalla Duchessa Maria Beatrice d'Este a Massa, costruì nel 1782 il bel ponte in marmo sul fiume Frigido. Una lapide in latino sul ponte ricorda pure il suo nome, quale architetto, costruttore di esso; morì a Modena il 21 ottobre 1826. Il Dott. Giuseppe fu giudice ed avvocato e suo figlio Dott. Antonio, medico, si trasferì a Massa dove nel 1845 fu Podestà. Il più insigne di questi figli, ed il personaggio più illustre della famiglia fu Paolo medico chirurgo, n. a Reggio E. il 15
