Questa famiglia marchigiana che fu a Ripatransone, Massignano e Fermo non è che un ramo della famiglia di Ferrara e di Modena. Non si sa chi si stabilisse per il primo nelle Marche a Ripatransone nel sec. XV. di qui si trasferì a Massignano e a Fermo, poi al principio del secolo XIX, tornò a Ripatransone. In questa città ebbe i primi onori del patriziato e seggio in consiglio. Monsignor Alessandro, fu uditore di Rota nella prima metà del sec. XIX. Per i suoi meriti di giurista e teologo fu preconizzato cardinale, ma morì prima di avere la porpora. Fu anche uditore a Ferrara e per ottenere questa carica dovè dimostrare la sua nobiltà e diretta discendenza dalla omonima famiglia ferrarese.
