A família mencionada nos documentos antigos Tassi, Tassis, Tarsis ou del Cornello, originou-se do distrito de Cornello em Val Brembana e exerceu o escritório de correio neste vale; mas logo se ramificou em várias aldeias, dando origem aos nomes de Tassi del Cornello, d'Almeno, della Piazza, S. Pietro d'Orzio, Camerata, Bietto, d'Arco e os de Bordogna de Tassi, De Leidi, de Tassi del Cornello e Gazotti e Guarisco de Tassi. Eles chegaram a Bergamo na primeira metade do século XIV. De fato, Giovanni di Passio del Cornello, habitante de s. Pancrazio e, em 1350, um Marchisio do falecido Passio de Tassi del Cornello.
