Antica e nobile famiglia anconetana, oriunda però da Fermo dove se ne ha notizia fin dal secolo XI. Riconosce suo capostipite in Ancona vivente nel 1173. Dette alla patria illustri personaggi che ricoprirono le principali cariche civiche. In tempi recenti sono da ricordare: Michele primo Gonfaloniere e poi primo sindaco di ancona nel 1860. Morì egli senatore del Regno. Si distinse molto durante le epidemie coleriche del 1855 e 1865 e per il suo patriottismo nel 1859. Andrea, suo fratello, comandò nel 1849 in Ancona la "Compagnia della Morte"; combattè da prode con Garibaldi; raggiunse il grado di generale e morì sindaco di Camerano in detta città. La consulta Araldica (vedi Elenco Nobiliare Ufficiale 1908), dichiarò spettare a questa famiglia il titolo di Patrizio di Ancona (mf.). Oggi la famiglia è così rappresentata: Fazio Fazioli, nato a Firenze 17 settembre 1888 dai fu Rinaldo e Ciarpaglini Luisa; sposato 25 aprile
