Alcuni storici sostengono che questa antichissima famiglia di Ferentino sia un ramo dei Tebaldi, altri la ritengono derivata da casa Orsini. Se ne hanno traccie in Roma fino dal XIV secolo, dove abitava nella via del loro nome, ora dei Cappellari. Un Francesco, da Urbano V, in Montefiascone, il 22 sett. 1368 fu creato cardinale prete col titolo di Santa Sabina ed indi tesoriere della chiesa di Langres; intervenne in Avignone all'elezione di Gregorio XI, che lo nominò suo legato a Roma con amplissimi poteri e con ordine di ridurre a dovere i baroni romani; morì nel 1388 dopo l'elezione di Urbano VI e fu sepolto in San Pietro. Fabrizio fu cavaliere gerosolimitano nel 1554; un Tebaldo nel 1510 ed un Michelangelo nel 1551 furono Conservatori di Roma. Questo casato fu compreso nella Bolla Benedettina "Urbem Romam" e conservata fra le nobili famiglie di Ferentino. Sono genericamente iscritti nell'Elenco Ufficiale
