Famille bien connue à Trento avant 1528. On pense qu'elle est originaire du Tesino. A Paolo T. était maire de Rovereto en 1560; an Antonio, se serait réfugié dans le Val di Non avec le prince évêque Madruzzo pour échapper à la peste qui a fait rage à Trente dans la seconde moitié du XVIe siècle; a Nicolò (décédé en 1637) participa aux guerres contre les Grisons. Salvatore, fils de celui-ci, est né le 9 nov. 1608 et a également combattu contre les Grisons. Giovanni Antonio, fils dudit Salvatore, a demandé le rang de noble de la principauté épiscopale du Trentin, qui lui a été conféré avec un diplôme le 24 nov. 1698. Il eut deux fils: Salvatore et Pietro Virgilio, sarcedote, docteur en théologie, peintre, poète et homme de lettres, aumônier de l'électeur palatin de Bavière, chanoine de la Collégiale de Gries et enfin prieur de S.
