Seine frühesten Erinnerungen gehen auf das 11. Jahrhundert zurück und wurden 1184 unter den wichtigsten, die die Kurie besuchten, aufgeführt. Drei der Tencarari kämpften für die Eroberung des Heiligen Landes. Bartholomäus gehörte zu den Templern zur Zeit der Verfolgung, unter der Philipp der Schöne König von Frankreich litt. Zenone Tencarari war Bischof von Avignon und apostolischer Legat und präsidierte als solcher 1254 den Generalrat von Alby, um die albigensischen Ketzer zu verurteilen. Der Richter Nicolò war einer der 1272 Gewählten, die eine Form des fraglichen Bologneser Statuts erklärten. Die Tencarari von 1258 bis 1369 waren Teil älterer Menschen und hatten sehr wichtige Missionen und Aufgaben. Der letzte dieser Familie war ein Priester, der 1500 lebte. Das Wappen der Familie Tencarari lautet: Rot, mit zwei silbernen Schleien (Fisch), auf die Stange gelegt, an der Spitze von einem blauen Stern begleitet, mit dem Kopf von Anjou.
