Nos séculos XII e XIII, há as primeiras notícias dessa família em Milão e Monza. Ele deu à luz o famoso S. Gerardo de Monza. Foi dividido em dois ramos: o primeiro ditado de Monte di Brianza e extinto em 1789 com Don Gaetano, protonotário apostólico, que deixou sua irmã Cecilia, herdeira da Casanova di Civate, herdeira de seu patrimônio vistoso; o segundo, chamado di Canzo, que tinha neste local e na igreja paroquial o antigo sepulcro nobre. Na Idade Média, a família era dona do castelo de Vergano. Don Pietro, com o decreto da Corte Araldica da Lombardia, de 4 de fevereiro de 1777, obteve o reconhecimento da antiga nobreza da família e o delineamento da arma no Código Heráldico, uma nobreza que foi reconfirmada em 1816. A família está registrada no Lista oficial italiana nobre com os títulos de nobre (mf.), Tratamento de don e mulher, na pessoa de Cesare, Antonio, Carlo.
