Esta família teve a mesma origem que a família Terzo com o mesmo nome e do país de origem, Terzo no Bergamasco, recebeu esse nome, mantendo o antigo. No final do século XIV, os membros da família, que haviam se estabelecido em Franciacorta em feudos monásticos, já apareciam como cidadãos de Brescia, em uma posição muito alta, e um Giovannino vivia nessa época. Seus filhos, Guiscardo e Paribono, lutaram nas muralhas da cidade no cerco de 1438, junto com seus filhos e netos. Dos quatro, entre os filhos de Guiscardo, muitos ramos se originaram, nos quais esta distinta família Brescia foi dividida.
