Vennero da Corio a Nole e di lì a Torino. Si ha memoria di un Giovanni Domenico Tessitore, nato a Corio il 21 febb. 1619, padre di Giambattista, nato a Nole il 4 maggio 1673, morto a Torino nel 1758. Costui, appena sedicenne, era emigrato in Germania ove, come appaltatore delle provincie nella guerra del 1690, si era arricchito. Suo figlio, Carlo Domenico, morto a Torino il 23 marzo 1758, già munizioniere generale dell'esercito (I aprile 1733), fu anche appaltatore, e seguitando a negoziare con mirabile fortuna acquisì prestigio e terre. Nel corso dei secoli vari membri di questa illustre casata si propagarono in diverse regioni d'Italia e vi furono accolti nelle importanti cariche della città dove ebbero dimora. L'antichità della presente famiglia accompagnata con la scarsezza delle scritture non lascia scorgere il principio della sua nobiltà; e perciò a ragione gli scrittori e ricercatori confessano con tutta la loro
