In una antica cronaca si legge: "Tucio de Tingolini da Bel Monte da Siena: egregio marchandante, venendo in Friuli cum sue facultà nel mille tricento et vinti quivi habitante citadin se fece: da indi in qua in una asaij honorevole casata ritrovandose, ritrovato se ritrova". E'dunque, questa, una antica famiglia, originaria di Siena, trapiantatasi in Friuli, in tempo immemore. Essa, infatti, risulta aggregata, sin dal 1623, al Consiglio Nobile della Città di Udine, oggi cessato. I nomi dei Tingolini si trovano, di sovente, menzionati in atti e documenti notarili, fin dai secoli trascorsi, dai quali appare la loro elevata condizione. Ricordiamo, tra i molti: Agostino, consigliere in Udine, vivente nel 1734; Francesco, notaio del XVIII secolo; Antonio, avvocato in Trieste, vivente nel 1822.
