Famiglia feudale catalana un cui ramo si trasferì in Sardegna, da Lerida, nel secolo XVI con un Giordano, che fu alcade del Castello di Cagliari. Nel 1368 egli ottenne il feudo di Mara con l'orto e la casa del giudice d'Arborea; nel 1370 ebbe altri piccoli feudi e nel 1373 il feudo di Sette Palme nel Logudoro. Suo figlio, un altro Giordano, nel 1392 acquistò i feudi di S. Sperate, Mogor, Soleminis, Ciria e Villaspeciosa. Agli inizi del secolo XV iniziò il declino della famiglia: nel 1413 Mara fu venduta ai Dedoni, e nel 1442 tutti gli altri feudi ai Torellò; della famiglia non si hanno più notizie dal secolo XV. E', comunque, risaputo che fu costume delle più antiche famiglie, le quali dopo la caduta del Romano Imperio, in quella "inondatione de' Barbari", avendo i loro cognomi, come tutti i loro averi, smarrito e, restati solo con semplici nomi,
