Famiglia oriunda da Rima Valsesia, la quale venne nobilitata in persona dell'ingegnere comm. Antonio, di Antonio, che venne creato barone con breve di S.S. Pio XI del 24 novembre 1924, confermato da Regio Decreto 20 novembre 1927 e successive Regie Lettere Patenti 15 aprile 1928. Il barone Antonio sposò Marianna, figlia dell'illustre clinico e dottore Camillo Bozzolo, senatore del Regno, e da queste nozze nacquero: Anna Maria (n. Vienna, 2 novembre 1903), Antonio e Alfonso (n. Vienna, 123 maggio 1905) e Camilla (n. Vienna, 13 agosto 1913). La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli o bandiere dei cavalieri, esposti alle finestre delle locande in cui questi alloggiavano, in occasione dei tornei, e durante i tornei stessi.
