It boasts the descent of the Leopardi family of Constantinople, who is believed to have passed to Ancona since 646, changing the surname to that of Tomasi. Un Antonino Tomasi e Rinaldi il 24 settembre 1797 ottenne l'investitura dello strasatto di Nadore e nel 20 agosto 1809 ottenne l'investitura del feudo Canetici e fu capitano di giustizia in Sciacca nell’anno 1812-13.
