Ancient and very noble family of the city of Siena, whose members were of the Nine, under the government of the Thirty-three, which spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. Many illustrious personalities belonged to this family. Many of the branch established in Gubbio covered the position of gonfalonier and were ascribed to that nobility since 1776, with Damiano. Note: Le originarie figure (collari da torneo) sono diventate rose, forse per cattiva esecuzione, a partire almeno dalla seconda metà del XVI secolo. Deriverebbero da una famiglia famiglia Rossi di Gubbio probabilmente estintasi nei Tondi. Si trova anche la forma Tondo.
