Illustre famiglia senese dei Nove risieduti sotto il governo dei Trentatre. Conta fra i suoi personaggi il beato Jacopo, certosino, compagno di S. Caterina; fra Giacomo, conventuale, fra i più illustri del suo Ordine; Attilio, lettore e avvocato e uditore di Rota in Bologna nel 1575; Franceco, commissario generale in Siena. Durante la lotta delle fazioni tre fratelli si rifugiarono in Gubbio, Iesi e Viterbo dando origine in questa città a tre rami della famiglia dei quali non si sa se ancora superstiti. Del ramo stabilitosi a Gubbio molti coprirono la carica di gonfaloniere e furono ascritti a quella nobiltà sin dal 1776 con Damiano. Appartenne a questa famiglia Luca che si creò celebrità con la difesa di Valliano nel 1554. La famiglia è iscritta genericamente nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano del 1922 con titolo di nobile di Gubbio (mf.), in persona dei discendenti da Damiano (1776). Altro ramo. Originaria di
