La famiglia é originaria dalla Francia ove raggiunse singolari e non comuni onori. Giacomo fu marchese e poi duca de la Force (30 ottobre 1558-10 magio 1652) ed ottenne inoltre il grado di maresciallo, conseguito anche da suo figlio Armando (1580-1675); Giovanni fu valoroso pittore sul vetro; Giuseppina Luisa, maritata contessa Balbi fu la favorita di Luigi XVIII; Carlotta Rosa (1650-1724) fu non comune scrittrice di romanzi; Antonio (1650-1723) fu particolarmente caro al re Luigi XIV che lo elevò al grado di maresciallo. Sposò segretamente madamigella di Montpensior (nipote di Enrico IV), nel 1692 ottenne il Ducato di Lanzun. Federico di Enrico sposatosi con Elisa Caimi ottenne con RR. LL. PP. 1891 maritali nomine con successione nei maschi il titolo di conte. La famiglia Caimi é oriunda dalla Germania. Corrado detto Bronzino fu nel 1340 podestà di Bergamo e di Piacenza.
