El progenitor de esta rama de la famosa familia Torriani fue Guido di Francesco di Pagano, que era el capitán perpetuo del pueblo milanés con la facultad de poner su mano en los estatutos en 1308 y que fue expulsado con toda su familia de Milán en 1311. Un Guidino di Finiberto , bisnieto del anterior, se encuentra domiciliado en Mendrisio en 1375, y de él desciende el Torriani que aún florece en esa tierra. Gaspare se matriculó en el colegio de decuriones de Como; Donato, hijo del anterior, elegido por la Sforza podestà de Mendrisio y de la parroquia de Balerna, en 1475 realizó compras de diversos bienes en el territorio de Rancate, y en 1483 de otros ubicados en Mezzana en la parroquia de Balerna; otros Gaspare atribuyeron en Como al Collegio de 'notari y al de los nobles jurisconsultos en 1522; Ambrogio a cargo de la iglesia
