Antica ed assai nobile famiglia piemontese, originaria da Molare e con diramazioni anche in Torino ed in Roma, detta Torrielli o Tornielli di Crestvolant. La famiglia risulta fregiata del titolo di Conte, con il predicato di Crestvolant (1839) e la sua blasonatura è riportata nella pregevole opera "Il Blasonario Subalpino", di Antonio Manno. Lo stesso Manno, inoltre, asserisce che tal famiglia potrebbe discendere dagli omonimi nobili novaresi. In ogni modo, la genealogia documentata della famiglia, risulta essere la seguente: Sebastiano, il quale testò nel 1663, da cui: 1) Bartolomeo; 2) Francesco; 3)Gian Giorgio, Sergente Maggiore (1691), il quale sposò Giovanna, del capitano Giovanni Albertotti. Francesco Maria sposò Clara Buzzi Lenghi, da cui: 1) Gian Antonio, dello Speron d'oro, il quale sposò Anna Maria Gaioli; 2) Francesco; 3) Federico; 4)Giacinta, sposata con Luca Gaioli.
