Antica ed assai nobile famiglia di Lantosca, di chiara ed avita virtù, passata a risiedere primieramente in Nizza ed in Torino e propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e di Francia. Questa nobile casata risulta fregiata dei seguenti titoli nobiliari: conti di Monastero; baroni di Roccasparviera; signori di Castelnuovo, Fogassieras, Quincinetto. Bartolomeo, fratello di Lodovico, archivista ed insinuatore di Lantosca, sposò nel 1632, Francesca Thaon, da cui ebbe due figli: Giulio e Giambattista, arcidiacono di Nizza. Giulio nacque a Lantosca l'8 febbraio 1607, si laureò medico a Mondovì (1628), esercitò come medico a Nizza e poi lo divenne del cardinale Maurizio. Fu infine protomedico di Nizza e di Torino (1668, 11 dicembre; patenti 67, 203). Fu egli infeudato di Monastero di Vasco (1673) col comitato; sposò (15 febbraio 1632) Francesca, di Filippo Thaon (nata 13 febbraio 1610; + di parto 2 febbraio 1643), da cui ebbe, tra
